Consultancy
Our core work focuses on working with CBOs with no or limited funding. Our funding allows us to offer our services at a nominal fee. However, since we are not fully funded, we are supplementing our income by also offering our services to NGOs, government institutions and businesses that work with grassroots organisations in such a way that it furthers our vision and mission and adheres to our principles and values:
We currently offer the following services:
- Organisational Development Support
- Mentoring
- Training (short courses / workshops)
- Materials Development
- Research
- Systems / Tools Development
- Multi-stakeholder planning and dialogue (public participation processes)
- Computer Resource Centre
- Monitoring and Evaluation
Criteria
- The request needs to come from a person or institution, who works with or supports CBOs or community development.
- Work for the profit sector needs to have a direct benefit for CBOs or community development processes
- Our work needs to enhance the requesting institution’s work in the communities.
- Should the request be to sub-contract us to work with CBOs in the institution’s network, the request must be driven by the needs/requests of CBOs/community members, and not ‘prescribed’ by the commissioning body.
- Community Connections will then be able to interact directly and build a relationship with the actual client, which will inform the design of the programme.
- The commissioning agency needs to have sufficient finances for the intervention, as this type of intervention serves to ensure Community Connections’ sustainability (discounts are negotiable).
- All commissions need to further Community Connections’ mission and values/principles and therefore no commission should be undertaken if the process/ethics are questionable.
- We need to have sufficient internal capacity to undertake the work and this should not be at the expense of our funded outputs
- The client should be open / supportive of Community Connections’ paradigm and values
- The client should be committed to mutual learning
