Organisational Development Support
In 2003 we came to realise that training alone does not always enable people to transfer the skills they have learnt into their own organisations. We therefore added an Organisational Development Support (ODS) component to our work. Through ODS, we work with organisations over a longer period of time and identify their specific strengths and challenges. Together with the organisation, we then seek to find ways to address these.
We are guided by the understanding that organisations, like humans, are responsible for their own well-being. Thus, our role is focused on assisting organisations to understand their organisational health and to offer guidance in their own growth and self-empowerment. Our approach takes into consideration where people and organisations are at in their development and we build on their skills, experience and abilities in a developmental way. We take a strong orientation towards an appreciative/asset-based approach, by acknowledging existing capacities on the ground. Our practitioners design customised processes for individual organisations based on their unique needs. These can include community research, needs/asset assessments, strategic planning processes, organisational/operational structures, organisational culture, governance, evaluations, research, resource mobilisation/budgeting/financial management, teambuilding and other processes relating to the well-being of their organisation. Our methodologies include workshop facilitation, mentoring and coaching and making available relevant information as required.
